I just got the navionics iPhone app and it seems pretty cool. The app actually shows more detail than the navionics chip on my graph. I haven't taken it out on the water yet to see how accurate it is. I have a tournament this weekend and was looking at and marking some target areas. Has anyone used this app? If so, is it pretty accurate as far as the locations of contours, structures, and channels? Didn't want to make a plans based on this app and it be inaccurate on tournament day.

Extremely accurate. It's a great tool.

That's good to hear. It seemed too good to be true for only $10.

I'm not sure about something though. There are 2 different markings for creek channels. Some of the channels are marked with a dashed blue line, which the key translates as river(I'm assuming this means creek channel), while other channels are marked with parallel dotted lines that look like a road and say seabed. I'm am sure both of these are channels, but does anyone know what the difference in the 2 is?

I think the parallel dashed lines mean old road bed.

Great app! Bought mine years back when it wasn't so inexpensive. Still worth it! I use it on back seat on bud's boat or my in laws alum pro team 175 without GPS.

The app for the iPad is the same, but using an iPad is so much more viable! Larger screens rule!

You need to update your card. I updated mine and it has things that the app doesn't

I use mine a lot and it definitely has more data than my super duper bells and whistle platinum 3d blah blah blah navionics chip. The phone shows road beds and bridges, chip doesn't. On Fork most of the underwater bridges are accurate on the phone, but some are off 50 yards or so.
On that note, has anyone considered putting an Ipad in the dash of the boat? I know I saw on Scott Ashmore's website he was planning on it last year. Judging by the detail on the navionics Ipad and Iphone app, having that Ipad in the dash would be dang nice.

Make sure you don't save your spots under the community layer... I did that and had to delete about 20 spots from quite a few different lakes.

Works well, shows fair detail, and just fun to mess with!
