 Lake Nac+Slab Bandits=Crappie!

Went to Lake Nacogdoches today and did a side by side minnow vs. slab bandit. Caught about 15 fish today with 9 keepers. Only one was caught on a minnow (and it was foul hooked)! My poles were right next to each other. Those things work! Caught up with drakehunter88 for the last hour and caught a couple more. Aaron hung on a pile and had to break off, then a little while later he hung again, this time pulling up the slab bandit and line that he had snagged earlier! That's skill! Bait- Slab Bandit Pearl Truse Water Temp- 56-60 Depth- 20-25 ft  Biggest was right at 14"   Still FULL of eggs!  It was 30 degrees when I launched this morning! Little bit of fog on that warmer water.

I used a 1/4 oz chartreuse jighead then a #4 split shot above it. Sound like a lot of weight, but I like to get it down there, and that helps, especially when your using a baitcaster.

I enjoyed it Jacob... Still can't believe I snagged my old line I broke off... At least we got the slab bandit and jig back.... It was a great day to be on the water

Lake Nac, my old stomping grounds. Been about 15 years since I fished it. Thinking about coming and trying naconiche Saturday. Have been there and gave it a try???
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Yes, been there 3 times and skunked on crappie everytime! I know they are in there and people have caught them but EVERYWHERE is full of brush! You can't narrow down where to fish! Caught some nice bass out there though. It's a gorgeous lake, and will be a great crappie lake in the future!

If you go, be careful of falling treetops! We had one fall about 50 yards in front of us in the middle of the boat lane. Also, lots of floaters!
