We had had a steady stream of 70's and some 80's along with a lot more water by this time. Just sayin.

while you are right concerning the 2nd week in march, for the prior 9 + weeks, there is only a 1.5 degree difference in the average temps. at least in celina. and as for the water , the rains hadn't yet started which filled the lakes last year. they started on the 19th per my journal. we still have hope.

Lavon came up about 5ft Jan 24 of last year. So we are behind in comparison to last year.

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

march is the new february in texas. fish dont bite good till april nowadays,.. ha

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Last year i caught a limit on the 17th. The water is 1000 yards from that spot right now. The lake was 4 ft low. It came up 5 ft in 8 days.

Last spring Lavon was high (after that 17th rain). The year before the lake was really low. the year before that it was just right.

When global warming kicks in to high gear I figure Canada will be nice in the winter!
