Looking at going on Friday. Small lake near Dallas with relatively clear water and crappie. Any recommendations on when I should be there? Thanks!

I fish when I can, even though I still check the fishing forecast, I use the national weather forecast, on the bottom left of the screen is a part for fishing, its based of the weather, moon phase etc it will give you peak feeding periods hi's lows etc. but you dont know unless you go. Ireally enjoy seeing the sunrise and the start of the day so I always go early I pack a lunch thermos with some coffee, and dress in layers so I can shed clothing as it gets warmer, fish can change at any time, they gotta eat, your job is to bethere when there feeding, so make day of it, it's still better than a good day at work

Any time is better then sitting on a couch. Not going to catch unless you wet the hook. Good luck and be safe.

My bite has been best right at daylight lately...
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

If the water is clear go with with light line and fish deeper water than you normally would. Fish don't take days off only fisherman.

Man the nights need to warm up fast if the bite is early, I can't take shivering! makes my back hurt 10x more! Oh well, go when I can & stay as long as I can is my motto!

Just trying to find the link with the peak fishing times mentioned in your mail above.
Do you mind sharing info as to where this is found.
Thanks

Thanks, ya'll. I'm taking my mom and dad who are both in their 70's. They'll be happy regardless but it would be great to catch a few. Of course if we do, I'm not cleaning them because my folks insist that crappie should be skinned and not filleted.
