Guys I've got a full week off. Clear and sunny the whole upcoming week so I will be on the water every day. I will be setting lines (2 hook) in the Colorado river. Normally I don't start running lines until the spawn starts so lately it seems as I'm wastin my time. Do y'all have any tips for rivers in this cooler weather? Deep holes or shallow flats? I see a ton of fish next to rocks and brush piles but getting them to bite the hook is a different story. Just wondering if you fellas could give some input...I'm gonna chase em hard either way

I'd use cut shad, and fish the head and tail of holes. Along with creek mouths. You might be marking buffalo and carp that haven't became fully active.

Good deal, there are a few creeks that I haven't fished near yet. Cut bait is also the only bait I haven't used yet either...I'm certain the fish I see are channels. It's usually schools swimming around. Water is crystal clear and it's not very deep. Heck it's tough just to find any deep water on that river.

Even if it's a hole that's only 6ft deep its still a hole, and a spot they can sit and wait for food to come along.

A slip bobber works well to drift bait to them. Might try a wad of worm on the hook if shad doesn't work.
