Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Tip and answer to question:
If the fish is alive, it wont loose much water weight.
If the fish is dead or dies, it looses a couple oz's. Get them on ICE ASAP to slow the OZ loss down. You never know on tournys, it can come down to the very ounce.
Keep the fish alive as long as possible or in a cooler of creek water on the drive to Bass Pro Shop and you will loose minimal water weight. Plus if they are alive, we will let them go in the front ponds of Bass Pro Shop, if you dont want to eat them.
-I know what a 6 hour old fish looks like. So dont think about cheating. I have a DNA machine in my truck. I can figure out what body of water it came from.
If you find a school of females, your in the money. 25 fat females are what you are looking for.
You can not cull your fish. If you stringer a fish, you Can Not take that smaller fish off the stringer, and replace it with a bigger one. It hurts or kills the fish, plus its illegal to do so.
-Lets say you had a blast catching these sandbass, every cast or so and you have a limit of sandies on a stringer laying in the water. You CAN NOT give a fish away to Joe Shmo fishing beside you on the bank. That means you harvested another sandbass making you 1 fish over your limit. Think next time you throw your buddy a fish when you already limited. Might cost you $225 each fish you throw at him.

Any guess on how many people are going to show up? With temps forecasted in the 70's for the remainder of the week AND the rain we just got, I would expect a pretty big turnout.

Its during Spring Break, and yes, temps are great! We just had a flood in the creek and the water got 20 ft high in the creek. So I am 100% sure we had a great batch of sandies that came up. Some Hybrids should be mixed in the bunch as well. Last year we had 37 people enter. Should be some huge Females on the stringers this round. Anyone can win it.

The Sandbass and the hybrids have shown up! The hybrids are way early this year but they're there and a couple dozen have been caught. People are starting to take limits out of the creek so the tournament is on!
( hint ) think downstream more of the normal areas. )

Tip: at 10 am, the sun hits the water. Fish the shaded pockets or deep holes to hook up.

Nice stringer. Congrats to Jonathan! Sounds like he's got the creek fishing down pat since he's doing a repeat on the win. Good job Jonathan!
