This tournament had everything you can imagine. The previous week, almost all fish were still in deeper water, 20-30ft. After the strong winds last Mon-Tues, things were changing fast. Most people fishing deep were finding limited success. Those fishing shallow were having less success than that. The fish were on the move to their spawning areas. Max and I fished shallow 3-8ft Wed and Thur, 8 hours each day and caught ONE crappie and one white bass. Talk about not knowing where the fish were, we were lost for sure. We had never fished Fork in the spring, and if you've seen Fork, there's about 400 miles of shore line that looks really good. So if you don't know where some brush piles are or spawning banks, you've got a lot of water to eliminate.

Fish really moved up Thur and Fri. Several teams that hadn't caught more than 10 fish in two days, found shallow fish Sat morning. And the bite was on. Wind played a big factor for most. Winds gusting to 25mph on Fork spells trouble if your favorite spot(s) are in open water. Considering the conditions of wind and moving fish, the weights were very impressive indeed.

I can't remember what Stuart told me the water temp was at but he did say 3-4 ft of water was the bite zone...

I would have been pleased with all of those catches, but 15.41 is great.
