This weekend I discovered my new favorite place to fish. The Colorado River in Fayette County. I caught 14 Bass and a monster gaspergou (those things are nasty). I never knew the river was so clear and pretty around there. I can't wait to get back down there in a couple weeks. Future lunker with my new favorite reel Guess what kind of plastics I was using.. I also wanted to give a big thanks to Steven168 who got my old Ambassaduer fixed up for me in less than a week. He's a great guy and I love this reel.

May I ask where you launched from? I fish the lake from time to time, but never even considered the river. Rich

Me and a buddy fish that river multiple times every summer. It's my second favorite river. 1st being the Buffalo for smallmouth

Great pics, Texas Aggie. Don't see too many posts here from the Colorado River, which means you've got a niche market. Keep the reports coming.

I launched from plum park between La Grange and Smithville. I paddled up the river about 2 miles and fished my way back. I'll probably be going back in 2 weeks.

I am up for it in a couple of weeks if you want some company. I have been wanting to fish that stretch also.

Looks like a great trip. Really nice looking area too.
