Rats. Missed you again Mr. Banker. You musta been on McQ or Dunlap. I looked for you on Placid but obviously didn't see you. Went up by the RR bridge first, zero, then to 90 bridge, caught 3 decent slabs there. Maybe we will run into each other next week. I'll be hitting McQ hard on slab spawn patrol, weather permitting.

Glad you guys are finding em. I have not been able to get anything worth while on Mcqueeney. Hopefully fishing will pick up the next couple of weeks. Are they still holding close to brush piles?

Thanks Curtis for the reply. Late last week I fished the river part of Mcqueeney and found some very nice fat Bluegill. They were hanging close to a dock in about 10 feet of water. I also spoke to two anglers on Kayaks who stated they were getting some nice Crappie off of the main river channel. Me and Mike also fished the main lake this week and did not locate any Sunfish. We did manage some nice Crappie. Seems the Crappie are getting a little more active on Mcqueeney.

I am going to start fishing the river channel more. I guess once we get into Spring the Sunnies will be more active and on the move and will come up into the shallow water by the Tree Lines and docks. In the mean time it is still winter and it does seem that the fish are still holding in deeper water.

Thanks "Roofish and "Dhogdog" for the replies. Curtis: Right now the river channels seem to be holding most of the Sunnies. As stated sunken structure in about 12 to 18 feet of water. Once the tree lines bloom the fish will be more active and will be in shallower water. Late Spring through early Fall both the docks and tree lines should be holding fish. "Roofish": This is the first time for me fishing for Crappie. Right now they are in somewhat deep water. I don't think they would hit a fly. Also I have no idea about their spring or summer patterns. I do plan to do some night fishing for em. "Dhogdog": The River lakes on the Guadalupe hold some super Redear!

I dont't think they are holding deep anymore. I live on the river side of Dunlap and the bass have beds and the crappie and bluegill have moved in at a heavy pace. If there are some still holding deep I can tell you I haven't seen any shallow until the last few weeks and now they are all over the place. So I's say at least half had made the move shallow and the rest are on the way.
