Question for all you Humminbird guys........I recently installed a 858c HD DI on the bow of my boat along with a Interlink to connect it to the 997 on the console. I took it out on Tuesday, dropped the trolling motor in the water and started adjusting the sensitivity and a few other settings Everything worked great while I was in the marina. I pulled up and moved areas. When I dropped the trolling motor back down everthing worked great for about 30 seconds. It started getting crazy diagonal lines and then went blank. The sonar will not read the bottom. It shows the depth and will show a slight line if I crank the sensitivity up to 20. The down imaging works, but is not very clear. Interlink and all functions work. I've tried resetting it back to factory defaults with no change. I've checked all my connections and made sure the cable wasnt pinched. Everything looks good. I'm thinking the transducer is bad. Any thoughts ?????

I'm not sure. I used the power and ground from the Lowrance graph that was factory installed. I'm gonna install both of the choker cables today and see what it does

Why does triplog keep showing that boat is moving when I'm sitting in the parking lot? Does it with both 998 and 997 on same power cord.

I didnt think the new dedicated down imaging units and the Si units were compatable for interlink .???
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I'm gonna install both of the choker cables today and see what it does If the unit is not getting proper voltage and current it will not provide ample power supply. I would wire direct to the cranking battery with 14 Gauge Wire, solder the Connections and use a 3amp Blade Type Fuse.

Wayne P., Then the triplog isn't very accurate if the satalites keep moving. I know I traveled about 6-7 miles on one trip, and it showed 19 miles at end of day.

Why does triplog keep showing that boat is moving when I'm sitting in the parking lot? Does it with both 998 and 997 on same power cord. 4 Times a Second Humminbird Plots the Position from what the satellites are telling the GPS Receiver it's distance from the position of the satellite. the Satelites are in fixed positions around the world as the world spins knowing where each satellite is the GPS Receiver can calculate the postion. A consumer grade GPS Receiver does not use fee based correctionial signals but are accuracte within a few meters. Humminbird GPS REceivers are within 2.5Meter Accuracy in a sationary position over a 24 hour peroid as seen by the green dots in this image. Each Green Dot is a Trackplot of the GPS Reading. Because consumer grade GPS does not cost anything there is a margin of error the 2.5 meters. So when the trackplots are not exactly on top of each other the unit calculates that the position is moving because the distance between the trackplots. Humminbird's new AS-GPS and AS-GPS HS are much more accurate in correcting the location and understanding the boat is not moving.

But the only way to share sonar data is they must be compatible technology. For Example an 858ci HD DI and a 998c HD cannot share transducer data but can share GPS Data, GPS REceiver, Temperature Probes, Compatible Ethernet Accessories like iPilot Link can be shared.

I talked to HB support last week and they said the HD units are Ethernet compatible
