I have a super bait tank II. I like the filtration on it better. Either of the tanks will do a good job for you. Most all my friends in TN have super bait tanks, it looks like most guys here prefer grayline.

I forgot to add the "why" part, just my opinion since I have not used the others for a comparison. Proximity of the manufacture and dealing with them over the phone, was like "talking to the good side of the family" I have the 17 gal which is plenty for me and the size of my boat (smaller footprint), it's insulated and easy to clean and maintain. It came with one foam type filter and I took their advice and bought the secondary filter material at Walmart (dirt cheap) . It is pretty much "plug and play", I add water, salt, foam off, clean filter and bait. I have a toggle switch timer I bought from Cabells, so I can run it constant or cycle it to save battery. I have had around 200 3-4" shad in my tank and they are friskier when they hit the water than when I caught them. My shad aren't guaranteed to catch fish, but they are guaranteed to die try'n. I'm sure there are other brands as mentioned, that may be just as good, but I love mine and it's the brand I see in most guide boats around N Texas.

The Greyline tanks are good but you can make one equally as good for about 1/10th the price if you have some time. Takes maybe 1 1/2 hours--hardest thing is finding a decent tank. I bought a 30 gallon at Cabelas but you can get round barrels in various sizes much cheaper. Then just build a gravity fed filter system using 4 inch PVC and a bilge pump and you are done.

I have had both. Took a Little adjusting to get used to the Grayline but I like it Better now. I like the quality and feel out hold Bait better without knocking the asked off yet shad. Both of the Super Baittanks II I had cracked by one of the seams. That stuff the Grayline tanks are made of is tough. George had a piece of it at a Tackle show in Okc a few years back letting people hit it with a hammer all weekend long. Never tore up. Just dented in some.. Plus he is local if you need something. And on the Baittanks the rubber rope gasket comes loose and it's hard to get to stay in. And without a gasket it splashes out bad. The Grayline even without a gasket doesn't leak much. Because the lid is recessed.

The Superbait tank II has a couple of advantages for me. First there is nothing in the tank, no pipes or pumps. The water goes through the filtration process before it gets to the pump. There is also good circulation created by the water return port. Mine also has a light in it. My Superbait tank II does not have rubber gaskets and it does not leak when sloshing. I also had a Superbait tank fall off the back of my truck on the highway. Picked it back up and it had a scuff but it worked just fine. I've never seen one crack. Again it is just personal preference, either one will do a good job. They are both excellent tanks. I made a Greyline design tank with a blue 55 gal drum and a bilge pump. Its really easy. I even insulated it. I got the drum free and the pump cost 20 bucks. A piece of left over pvc and a tuperware container made the filter. It works great.
