Where would you recommend staying, in regards to being closest to some better fishing areas? We are looking at spending a couple of nights and would like a nice place, but also not have to run all over the lake. It's been ages since I was on Fork and we just want to give it a whirl in the next few weeks. Thanks in advance!

Hard to beat LFM for total experience. great location fishing wise plus all the other things you need right on site. Clean rooms and some of the most friendly and best CS going.

I've never stayed at LFM (the hotel, I've camped there a few times though). But Lake Fork Lodge has awesome owners, and a great facility the time I was there. It is a bit pricey though, so that has to be considered.
Also, don't know if their ramp is currently usable, although the public ramp is just a fraction of a mile away. When the lake was over 3 feet low 2 years ago, I managed to launch but grounded multiple times and had to "wiggle" away from there, they may have cleared it out since then though, don't know.

Henry David Thoreau said that "Some men fish all their lives without knowing it is really not the fish they are after."
I think that I am approaching this stage, that is to have
the opportunity and joy to go fishing and enjoy God's magnificent creation.

LFM on the Westside, Cameron is a good guy to get info from to make your trip better. On the Eastside I would look at the Minnow Bucket, it's been remodled an has all knew beds. That would seal the deal for me right there.. FYI
