Bobby is alive and still kicking and as contrary as ever. I will be sitting in his back seat at 7:00 AM tomorrow fishing Lake Worth.

My grandpa, Thomas Newman fished the amateur side of those events. Searched that site and found where he put a whoopin on them one tournament that won him a boat.

All us Fun-n-Sun boys cut our teeth with Charles and Barbara Jo's Central Division. Doug Butcher, Bill Tucker, "Iron Man"Bill Wilcox, Ed Klobas, Ken Smith - even our Home pro Alton- right before hitting the big trail.

Those that remember that division also remember the huge 30 lbs sacks that were a regular on a new lake called Richland Chambers.
Dang we were spoiled....
Thanks for this cool thread.

Yes, you sure did. I fished a Richland Chambers Pro-am with you in '96. When you found out I had a small tackle shop in a larger business, you asked me If I would consider carrying a line of baits you were working on and might be coming out with.

How do you pull those up? My partner Steve Holland and I fished Anglers Choice in the early 90's. We finished 3rd at Cedar Creek on March 17, 1991 and 3rd at Palestine on February 16, 1992, in the North Region.

I work with a guy named Robert Sanders that said he used to fish a lot of these tournaments any of you guys know him? From the stories he tells me it sounds like he used to be a pretty good fisherman, but he has since given it up for golf.

I thought Johny was a good guy', was really sad to see Anglers choice fail. I remember a pro am I was fishing on PK, I was in second after day one, David Wharton came over and sat at my table at dinner, we had a couple beers and he wished me luck, he ended up winning it, I stumbled and placed ninth.
