Is it me or im i over reacting you pay $300. plus for a good lifetime warrenty rod thinking you can just take it back if it breaks for another one not so it cost $100. to 120. to replace three times youve paid for it twice when you can pay less for Denali or Shimano and just take back to store or mail in for another one. whats yall thoughts ?

Yes, go buy a Shimano or Denali!

I will gladly pay only $100 to replace my seven year old GLX that I broke with my rod locker lid.

That is the expeditor service. Go send it in, with $20 and they will get you another within a week or so. I did this on 2 rods this winter and cost me $40 total...

Exactly. Just sent one in for $20 bucks. They turned it around in a week.

I broke one after only two fish. I contacted them and after a short one sided conversation, they sent me a new rod a few days later, with postage paid to return the broken rod. I'll never pay 100 bucks for a replacement. I've since given all of my Loomis rods to my 5 year old. I'll never use em again if all I can get is two fish out of a 250 dollar rod.

100.00 for a new 250.00 rod is a pretty smoking deal to me. Especially since 99% of the time the break is the owners fault. A small ding from hitting the edge of the boat, a tungsten weight bouncing on the deck. Anything that fractures the fibers a little bit could result in a break.

It never ceases to amaze me, a guy will buy a 1000.00 laptop or TV and if it goes out after a year they buy another because they know it won't be replaced. Same guy buys a 1/2" diameter fishing rod made of graphite and expects it to be replaced forever.

Retirement best job ever.

A. Do you know how that rod was handled before you got it? I've seen plenty of snot nosed kids fooling around with nice rods in the store.

B. If they're so bad why are you passing them off to your kids? Going to give my kids good quality rods so they're not breaking on them all the time and they can learn with good equipment.

If you bought it at Academy they would probably give you a new one no matter when you bought it. They seem to take anything back no matter what happened or how long you had it. Thats one reason they get so much of my business.

I know they carry some G Loomis but they may not have every model.

I would be more than happy to give you $150 for that rod they sent you back.

How in the hell do you guys see this as a good deal? So if your rod breaks, instead of paying JUST $300 for one rod, you end up paying $400. But hey, they send you another stick. . .lol.

It's funny to see people getting ripped off and not knowing it. Then again, if you can afford a $300 fishing rod, you probably don't really mind.

My wife doesn't know any better so she paid 120.00 for a rod that broke on me when I tightened down the reel bps Johnny Morris rod. When I took it back to bps the rods were already on clearance for $60.00. Btw I live 200 miles to nearest bps so I can't go to bps just to take a rod back. I just wanted to exchange it but the salesman said he was going to try and get me my money back so I could buy two of them. He asked the manager if it was ok since they knew it was bought at bps and they just barely put the rods on clearance. Anyways manager said no. What blows my mind is that they made a profit selling them at 60.00 and made a killing selling them for 120.00. I feel like a dumb [censored] for buying something when it first comes out. DON'T FEEL LIKE A DUMB [censored]!! Wait till price drop and get it for half off. If it breaks o well you saved half the cost. You can go buy another one. Basically when you buy a rod at full price then you are paying for it twice and if it doesn't break then they get to keep the money.
