Fish don't care how much you pay,UGLY STICK is good rod but you never can compare with some rods build on G.LOOMIS,SAGE blanks....

Fish what you're comfortable with, man. Ignorance is bliss.

I used to think it didn't matter as well until I used a higher end rod now I look back and wonder just how many fish I missed due to rod being too stiff which is what most of your cheaper rods are. First change was to Falcon Bucoos still have them great rods for 100 bucks now I buy Dobyns rods and these are just sweet rods and now all I buy. So for the ones that don't think it matters on the rod they evidently have never tried them because it makes a big differance.

I agree with you 10 fold, but if they haven't tried a higher end rod, then they don't know what their missing. That's why I say, "ignorance is bliss". Once you try the better rods, it's almost impossible to go back to the cheaper ones.

I agree!!!I build myself a lot of spinning rods on ALL STAR AUSTIN fly blanks,ST.CROIX ,RAINSHADOW and i change some SAGE RPLX,G.LOOMIS IMX,LAMIGLAS SERIE 1000 fly rod in spinning rods.

You can catch fish with any rods ,but if you start to fish with some high end rods you never want to fish with another rods....

You have to decide what it is that you want out of a rod and then go specifically for one that will do everything you want it to do. Also you can get a good rod for $100 dollars. Save the 300-400 dollar ones for later.

it depends on what you are fishing for. if fishing for blue cats and your rod is in a rod holder, sensitivity doesnt mean jack. you need backbone and a soft tip.

You can usually score an Abu Veritas over the web for around $69 delivered, I'm amazed at the sensitivity and lightness, best rod I've ever used.

H2O Xpress rods are hard to beat for lightweight and super sensitivity all for 60.00. I think it's a great stick for any level fisherman...
