Bardwell LOVE PARK Back to Bardwell last week in the high winds, caught a lot of snags, cast all the rattling thingies all the spinnin thingies, tight line with worms and minnows from shore! ;-) LIL too rough for paddling adventures. Did have a crappie jig with a worm attached cast out 60-70 feet out from shore. The tight line rig headed fast and furious into them white caps and broke the eye out of the 1/8 OZ jig. Will never know if it was a big hybrid or big catfish,>>>> mighta even been a Bass LOL... caught a few nice channell cats. couple of blues a fatso bass, even a fatso small yellow. NOT CATFISH BUT PART OF THE FISHING ADVENTURE-->> I did NOTICE LOTS OF beer droppings so i brought a large trash can with me from home and went up and down the shoreline from love park boat launch both ways pickin cans fulla broke/whole bottles, cans, bags, bait boxes, pieces of old wood from trailers, metal chair parts tires , that kinda stuff. Lugged em all the way up the hill to big dumpster, quite a workout. INTERESTING SIGHTINGS TOO-->> I Spotted a pair of Bald eagles flying side by side one grabbed a big fish from them whitecaps. They flew south over the dam. I Stopped by gaurd shack on way out and reported the sightings to Earl (man running love park) He confirmed several reports of Bald Eagles being sighted there and they have a nest other side of dam. Something spawned too dunno know what they were tho. The cast net had lots of 1-inch long somethings , They had a light stripe on their sides. couldnt tell if they were bass, sandies, shad or just minnows. They were not catfish,or crappie.

Thanks for the trash work! Cool deal on spotting the eagles!
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

My parents live on Lake Waxahachie and there is a pair of eagles on that lake too. I've seen them both several times in my folk's cottonwood tree. Could possibly be the same ones given the proximity of the two lakes.

I would like to see those eagles sometime-good on ya for the trash pick up also- We spent most of the day there Saturday in that wind-caught these on cut buffalo from fiesta.
What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

I've seen eagles out there almost everytime very humbbling feeling. Thanks for that trash duty it really drives me nuts when people leave trash we take trash bags with us every weekend and pick up what we see. I even got into a fight at Navarro with a meth head at the colvert because of that [censored], I've never seen him again back down there and good riddens.

Thanks yall< Ya them Eagles Catching trhe fish was like being in a movie. I was in the cove they came over the trees straight towards me. Flying a few feet above the water, I thought them sure look like eagles. ( used to seeing buzzards) When the one closest to me put them big talons down and scooped that fish I knew they were EAGLES. was clawing for the camera naturally the sun was in the view couldnt sse em real clear, hesitated waiting for them to get closer they turned and as quickly as they appeared they were back over the trees. I clicked the cam butt just got sky. Wound up with 3 nice cats< thru back a 19 inch fatso channell a 21 and a 22 inch blues bros> They were in 6-7 foot water depth. Butt they all looked like they were heavy with eggs. caught em right at dark. or just past dark. Then it got cold, :-)
