I currently have a Lowe V Hull boat and a Minn Kota 55 trolling motor on the front. I have noticed that the prop is only about 6-10 inches in the water. I run with the boat on speed 4(out of 5) at all times since 1-3 hardly move the boat at all. Here's my question.... If i replace the shaft with one that is longer, will it increase the spee of the boat? It seems like it would, but need some expert opinion. I don't have neough room in the back for a second batter so a 24 volt system is out for me. Let me know what you think! Thanks so much

not sure that it will make it faster, but keeping the prop in the water is a good thing.

what length shaft do you have now?

Steve, I believe it is a 42". The TM is about 10 years old so it may just be wearing down. Was hoping for an esay fix but may have to snag a new one
