Might have to drop a couple lobster traps next time I go to falcon. Wife might not give me so much [censored] about going fishing if I bring a few of those home each trip.

He is holding it wrong... It may not survive
He is holding it way out in front of him making appear bigger than it really is
He caught it with live bait so it doesn't count
Unlevel playing field
I wonder what flourocarbon he was using
Surely he released it and didnt turn it into program

Yes prawn were thought to be extinct in the devils river because of amistad and falcon dams creation but I guess not. Cool find I wonder what the population is like.

That is a Langostino, This lake is full of them, You very ever see them , They stay deep like a lobster. They spawn this time of year and sometimes the netters get them , that is probable where that on came from. They are really good to eat.

Langostino, if some of you remember, I used to make a langostino lure for El Salto. Molds are still on the shelf. Arms made of leather with overall length at 13". I could probably make a few more if anyone wants to give them a try. Actually had jigheads made with 7/0 hooks to fish them on.

Is that the typical color or do they molt and change like a crawfish?

Here is a photo of the Langostino lure we made. This was at Lake Comedero. Caught tons of fish on it while there. This particular lure in the photo, had small 1/0 spinners attached to the claw ends to add flash. I made my guide hold the fish for the photo as he was sure that we would catch nothing on it. By the end of the day that is the only lure he wanted us to fish with. grin
