Three of us fished there this past weekend. Sunday was pretty slow with only 25 caught. The morning was very slow but picked up around 11 am. Monday was better with 55 caught. Again, morning was slow with a pickup around 11 or so. Most fish caught were over 12 inches with many males and a few females. We were using pink jig heads and chartreuse tails with a very slow reel right on the bottom.
Be aware that the situation on the river seems to have changed. There is now a very nice parking lot on the North West side of the bridge which is excellent. However, when you get about 1/2 mile up (north) the river you will hit a new and tall fence with many "No Tresspassing" signs. There has always been a fence here but it was small and easy to get around plus no signs. We also heard from others that the landowner here has run people off his property.
Also, one other thing to note is that there are several trees blocking the river about 1 mile up from the ramp. They have not been cut yet.

Thanks for the fence update. I can't blame the landowner for protecting his property. I've always been disgusted at all the trash that's left along the river by these so-called fishermen. Complete disrespect.
Been thinking about going myself, but haven't made it yet. I've never thought about dragging my jighead on the bottom...I lose enough reeling 1' below the surface.
