So I have been looking into getting to fish only with artificial lures. I have a Curado 200g7 that I'm spooling with with 30# Power Pro Super Slick, and am thinking of going with 20# Seaguar Premier. Primarily to go after Red and Bull Reds.

On the other hand I have a Penn 430 or 440 ssg (can't remember which) that I plan on spooling with 15# Power Pro Super Slick as well. But this is where I need advise from the wise and seasoned saltwater fishermen on here. What lead size # should I go with on the spincast? I what to use this setup more for specks, flounder, slot red etc.

Any advise is welcomed. Thanks

Line diameter is generally what you should look at. The closer to being the same the better they will work together.

If you don't have a good knot for joining them, look up the Alberto's knot. It is the smallest and best one that I have ever used.

Try some Sunline Shooter or Sniper, I have tried them all and IMO this stuff is the best by far. It's a little expensive but well worth the money!! Seaguar would be my second choice though.

I used leader for years and then realized it rarely made a difference. I quit using leader and continue to have excellent luck, unless the water is exceptionally clear and I am fishing for something like bonefish.
