There were traces of a grimace as Lane hefted the behemoth onto the fish worn deck of the infamous crappie amassing vessel and claimed it from the depths of its watery abode. The crappie, eyes smoldering, fins thrashing violently had succumbed finally and not without passion to the angler's will. Enticed by the allure of the dancing green and white seductive nymph contrived from the fish hunter's conscious and forged by the weathered craftsman the fish was doomed and its fate was predestined to complete this moment of fishing glory.

Nice story Lane. I'm trying to get out there tomorrow. Do you fish in 30mph winds? I'd almost risk life and limb for a fish like that.

positive mental attitude can move mountains, good on ya Lane.
let the good times roll!!

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Great story and congratulations to you and Matt on the lake record.

If my buddy and I have a great day of fishing, we say: “The fishing was so good, I thought it was yesterday.”

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life,
there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

Great job you did there Lane, as always. Great job by Matt and the others on the boat that day. And thanks for sharing the story.

Of course, y'all DO realize that Lane will be constantly thinking of how to put someone on the WHITE CRAPPIE lake record, till it happens! Not to mention, Chuck, Chris, and Greg! But it will EAT at Lane's SOUL! He will be a man on a mission!!!!

Hey Lane, when you do that expo for the papers, will you send me a few copies, please? I mean, the rest of that party wants a keep sake as well. I did mention, I would like to get some of those Blue Ice Thump Buddy's, didn't I?!!! Oh, incidentally, John decided to join the TFF and told me he was going to go by the name of Crappie Hog! Fitting name for him. Later

Yes sir, it was...FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED! It ranks right up there with me fishing with Mr. Tim when I was a kid...I got to drive him to the lake every Saturday (I didn't have a license at the time) for a couple of years, cause he could no longer drive due to his eyesight...the police would just wave as we went by...cause he was the local crappie fishing legend, and they didn't want him driving to fish anymore! We went fishing up until three days before he died!

Great story Lane. I don't have to tell you how I love your baits, but there, I said it again.
Congrats to Matt on his catch!
