What shaky head jig/worm do yall prefer? There are many different styles to choose from. Also, does the kind of worm make a differance. Are there certian worm that preform better than other with the shaky head? If set up correctly does the rig stay verticle? I am new to bass fishing so any advise would be appricated.

You can put almost anything on a shakey head. My 2 favorites are a zoom trick worm and zoom super speed craw. As for the heads, I like the strike king or spot removers. I mostly throw them in the 3/16 size.

The "kind" of worm or plastic makes a big big difference. Using zoom or other non floating brands will not give you the desired effect of fishing a shakey head in the the original sense of the term. I fish with e2 baits because they float. If you use a floating plastic, the shakey head jig itself doesn't matter as much. There are a lot of different styles out there but without a floating worm, they will almost always fall over on the bottom. Use a cheaper head and spend your money on buying quality plastics that float.
Good luck!

I'm definitely going to start using floating worms, but my go-to is a Zoom finesse worm. 1/8 oz spot remover head.

I don't throw shakey heads very often, but so far as jig heads go, I prefer Santone's Piglets. They have a good head, and a great hook. The hook is a little stouter then most. They're tougher to straighten and last a little longer for me.

and any floating finnese type worm is my prefered method. E2 worms are great. Xcite baits makes some good floaters as well.

I like using KVD perfect plastics on a shakey head as the float better than the zoom.

I like the Strike King football shaky head, won't roll over on its side, with a trick work or Roboworm. Beware of Aaron Marthens shaky head, it does not stand up as advertised. I ran some tests in my complex's pool and they fall over every time. Totally bummed about that one.

I started using the Luck E Strike ball head jigs several years ago.I liked the little curley Q spring on the jig head. I started going to Gander Mountain and getting my jigs cause the hook was a little thicker. I started getting the football jig heads but always got the little wire spring to hold the worm on the head. I saw some Picasso shakey head jigs but didn't like the fiber spring. I have tried the Strike King jigs ,but I don't like threading worm on the hook shank.

I guess the tons of bass that ive caught on zoom trick worms must not of have gotten the memo that its not what they want...
All kidding aside, looks like ill take a look at e2 worms. Been using zoom trick worms, custom poured grumpys baits, hags tornado, and zman worms
only shakey heads in my box are the spot remover pros in 3/16 and the ultrahead in 1/8

santone piglett with a strike king finesse worm. The tail has a natrual bouyancy unlike their 3X stuff that stands straight up. Sometimes those kind of baits can be effective, especially when the water heats up, but I have better luck with the "do nothing" type baits with a more subtle natrual action in colder water.
