My buddy and I are going out Sunday but can't decide where to go. We haven't been out in awhile so any advice or tips on local lakes that are fishing well would be great. Basically where would you go within an hours drive?

I was on Pines today and did pretty well. The H2O is still around 50 F, but we caught some really nice fish. Martin Creek has been really good lately as well.

Martin Creek, Lake Gilmer are hot. You should have some luck at Lake Gladewater and Lake Tyler also. If you have boat access, all the better.

No. We did most of our damage mid-lake. Alley and Johnson Creeks. We put in at Johnson with ease. N of 155 is a nightmare if you don't know the lake well. Pirky and Martin may be more fun with the warmer water.

Gladewater is not bad and close to Longview. It's also easy to get around if you aren't familiar with anything else.

I'm familiar with the lakes around here I just haven't got out in awhile so I don't know how there fishing, water levels, any of the basic stuff that would determine which lake to choose.
