Got a suprise today as I opened up the Sulphur Springs Telegram and turned to the sports page to find a picture of a guy holding a rather large bass. I have lived in SS for 46 years and had fished this 30-40 acre lake quite often in the 70s and 80s and caught numerous 4-6 lb bass until they rebuilt it about 10 years ago, I think the deepest part is about 10ft deep.As I read this article and saw where it was caught, I thought to myself "here i am going to Lake Fork every weekend to have a chance at catching something like this when 150 yards from my front door of my home a bonafide SLAUNCH swims. I would have never thought it. I guess this guy never heard of the SHARELUNKER program. Kudos to him for CPRing the fish.Enjoy the read

I fished that reservoir as a kid. My grandparents lived off of Craig St. My Dad grew up fishing there. I can't tell you how many 5-9 lb bass he caught there! Great story!!

My grandson fishes that lake. Maybe he can catch it again. That was one nice bass.

Wow, great story. I grew up about a half mile from that lake. We would rig up our fishing gear to our bikes and ride down there after school. Never caught anything over five though.
