Thanks. I am going through the EXTENSIVE amount of videos relating to HB imagers and just finished watching one specifically dealing with trolling motor mounts. This particular one used a shield from Transducershieldandsaver.com. It uses that original transducer mounted to their shield and strapped to the trolling motor. Is this a good option or is the puck version still a better idea. I might just purchase the second 'ducer and power cord and use them when I go "pond-hopping". It would be interesting to see what was in those smaller lakes and ponds and be much more convenient to learn how to use the imager. BTW, I see your name on here alot giving help to guys like me. I appreciate that.

I love my Transducer Shield & Saver they not only make it easy to mount but protect the transducer.

MSRP is a price determined by the manufacture as a "suggested retail price" only, and does not necessarily determine the actual price that the merchandise must be sold. MAP(Minimum Advertised Price), on the other hand, is a price (less than suggested retail) determined by the manufacturer. MAP may be any price equal to or lower than the suggested retail price. MAP contracturally permits the retailer (big box higher volume retailers) a range of pricing so as to be highly competitive with others who sell identical products who may not have or been able to negotiate MAP (mom and pop retailers). MAP is highly enforeceable and is quite often. MAP is generally not negotiated by a manufacturer when a product is highly unique and of the highest quality and function available. Many manufacturers simply sell identical products "wholesale" (used loosely) to many retailers whereby the retailer has free reign to sell at whatever price is comfortable.

I believe that could be pieces of shrinkwrap on the fellow's boat in Saskatchewan. It was his new Starcraft.

Only way is set to North Reference and when you run east/west it will scroll side to side.

Will a new 1198 utilize the same connections as a 997. Wanted to upgrade and just wondering if I can use the cables already there and just swap out units.

Yes, but if you presently have the GR16 GPS antenna, you will want to change to the one that comes with the 1198c SI.
