Hi everyone, hello from a beginner/intermediate bass angler. I have had some success with texas rigging, definitely not mastered the use of crank baits or spinner baits. I know the bass are not quite biting yet, I think the water temperature needs to get a little warmer. However, my boss wants to go fishing, and as I am the guy who talks about it all the time, he has asked me if I can take him to some local pond/ lake (in the Mckinney Allen Plano Frisco etc area) tomorrow. Any suggestions on pond/lake? We will be out there after 4 PM until sundown. Catch Release Okay. Any tips on worm color etc are also welcome Thanks a bunch in advance!

Wanted to put in that any place in the whole of North Dallas would do, just want to make sure I do not take my boss somewhere where we don't even get a bite

Hoping today's warming trend=better bites. Fished yesterday for three hours and caught two small bass. Set your expectations low and let your boss know that with all the wind and cold fronts we've been having that the fishing should be slow.

Cool, thank you Outdoorsman! Will go to Bethany lakes @Allen, as from the google fishing maps (sticky topic @BankFishing), I spotted another pond only a mile east of that called "Bethany lake Blvd", and the note says "Good spot for bluegill and LMB". That way we can shift if no bites.
A question about Bethany Lakes Allen. There are 3 ponds... one on left (with all those ducks), one on right (with the fishing pier), and one in the back (beyond the slope).
Which one is good for bass? Is plastic worm a better bet or crank bait?
Thanks!

If you are going to fish either of the two you listed, take an assortment of plastic worms. I know these ponds very well. Lately I've had the best luck with 4 inch worms. I've thrown crank baits and rattle traps without much luck but that was around a month ago. Things may have changed a lot by now. Solid black curly tail will usually produce at both. Anything in the "junebug" color will catch a few as well. I would recommend taking as much as you can. I can't tell you how many times I've caught really well on one color or type, gone back the next day and only caught one or two. You will also have to figure out how they are wanting any bait presented. That can change too daily. Roostertails normally produce fish year round as well. I haven't thrown them much this year so I can't really suggest a color. Hope this helps.
