So I ask you gays early this week about a good fishing rods for blue cat I got the abu 6500 and a 7 foot ugly stick that's what most of yall said to get. Now I'm new to the catfish fishing that means I don't know noting about it lol. (I been fishing bass for a year now I like it but I want to move up to a bigger fish) so the question is how do you catch a blue cat rigs, bait and stuff like that any advice would be highly appreciated thanks

I am relatively new to cats myself, but general consensus will tell you FRESH shad or perch on a three way or santee cooper rig.

Ive caught a bunch of 2-5 pound channels on punch bait, shrimp and worms. Trying to get into the bigger blues and yellows on rod and real. Live perch on a trot line got me a 32 lb yellow on the3 clear forks of the brazos. Going to try a Santee rig over spring break. Cut bait, dip bait and live. May try some gummy wroms soaked in big red soda. IDK, be open minded.

You Tube has been a freind of mine in quest of ideas! I'm a newby also. I have been catching good eating (box) fish, on cut shad. I would like to get better at catching, i'll keep trying. Good luck.........

Either way I would say the easiest way for me to catch fish right now is fish shallow, muddy water with brush or timber, with a santee cooper or 3 way rig with shad. If no shad, id use carp, bluegill, buffalo or drum as cutbait.
