Hello all. I'm new to the site. I'm hoping someone can give me some info on where to catch some whites in the creeks. I live in Lockhart about 30 miles south of Austin. I'm willing to travel an hour or two. Please any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Granger might work for you. Info has been hard to get here lately. Counted 22 cars and trucks at the Steps the other day.

I been on the bank fishing a creek from granger and I parked by a bridge. Is this possibly where you're talking about? I've only been once and it was 5 or 6 years ago. Any directions and info on how and where to fish would be very helpful and appreciated. Thanks.

Just stay in Lockhart and eat BBQ! Yum!
I do enjoy a good Squirt now and then.

If your going north on 95 take the first right after the bridge and go about 3/4 mile and you'll see the parking lot.

Thanks guys. I haven't been able to get out yet. I'm still trying to find somewhere to go. Yes lake Travis is near me, but that lake is huge from what I've heard and wouldn't have the first clue on where to even start. If anyone wants to help they can pm me. I can give some good tips and spots on other lakes if anyone is interested. Anyone who gives some tips know that I'll probably fish the spot once maybe twice a year. It's just too far to go. That's why I stick to decker and Dunlap and calaveras. Thanks. Greatly appreciated.

TxShiner the name of the place is Reimer's Ranch. I dont live out that way anymore but it's great whitebass fishing from the bank or a yak as long as there is enough water for them to get there. Again I'm not out that way much anymore so I'm not sure on the water level but I'm guessing it might be low. But if it's not that place can be great.

forget reimers ranch, no water, forget grangre.
if you want to catch 15 inch magnum whites go to lake buchanan within the next 2 weeks. go to shaw island or garrett island. Get in 30 ft water . We caught 125 there sunday. You'll see the guide boats there. Park next to them. Carry a 5 gallon bucket to put'em in.
