Your best bet is probably Cagle at the far north end. Other than that there is not much else available.

Also at the very far north end is the Stubblefield campground in the National Forest. I'm not sure how easy it is to get to the main lake via boat though.

Stowaway has a camping area but not sure you can set up a tent, I've seen mainly pop ups and 5th wheel units there and has a ramp to launch from as well.

If work was as much fun as fishing, I'd LOVE my job! ><(((*>

I visited Lake Stubblefield yesterday, 3/4/13, and could not locate a boat ramp nor access to Lake Conroe from there. Since Conroe is three feet low, it may impede any connective access to Lake Conroe if it ever did exist.
I also visited Cagle Campground the same day and found it to have a very nice concrete ramp, pier, showers with hot water, toilets, tent pads, and RV sites and for only $10/night.
