Thanks for picking up some trash. Every little bit helps.
I can't stand it when people litter. Especially, when it is old nightcrawler containers, lure packaging or yards of wadded up fishing line. I think they need to radically increase the penalty or fine for littering. It is getting ridiculous in many places.

hogs/pigs have taken over texas ..... and this is another prime example ..... and the worst part is the 2 legged pigs and most of them aint natives either.... The original Tejanos or American Indians as NATIVES? lmao! Salute to Chad! Thank you sir, you did a good job of promoting awareness of this trash issue. (I must say, the color contrast between your yak and those bottles are OUTSTANDING!) Per Rowlett Creek, City of Garland send out some educational materials on trash, within the literature there were three pictures #1) pic of trash at street corner, caption said "trash here" ; pic #2) "Go here" pic of street drainage hole; pic #3) "end up here" pic of trash floating and piling up in Rowlett Creek. 99% of trash you see are by products of our "fast and convenient" culture, i.e. fast-food wraps, throwaway paper/foam cups, plastics bottles, chips and candy bags and wraps, and cigarette butts, etc. It would takes several thousand more bank fishermen to produce even half the amount of trash that you see in RC. In actuality, some of those trash came from as far north as McKinney. Also, what you don't see will eventually kill the fishery. Guess where the oil leaks and tire treads that we pulverize on streets and highways end up? Agriculture and housing development chemical run off, legal and illegal chemical dump from factories... would surely be more expensive to clean up than those plastic bottles that sore our eyes! My soap box rants is over!
The pursuit (where are the fish), rigs design and setup, scouting, the awesome feeling of casting your rigs 100+ yards out, the total focus on the fish and the elements, the outdoors... the total exhaustion at the end of your fishing day,... the cooler full of fish to bring home... Yeah, I'm going to miss bank fishing!

Great job Chad. I can talk about who is who and who did this and who that but it isn't going to help anything as far as trash goes. SO!! I will continue to do my part and keep my trash with me until it hits the trash can and know that I did not contribute to the MESS --LOL-- Nice report Chad

I remember seeing the older generation throwing beer cans out the car windows like it was a normal thing. Some still do it. I think the younger generation has brought the mindset changes. That's not me btw. I don't liter, hate the stuff but I've seen countless times where a person tries to sink a can in a lake as if out of sight, out of mind means non-existent. Same mentality of those who throw cigarette butts out the windows at intersections. Never saw a cop do anything about it.

Thanks everybody. I only hope that it is as important for everyone elses kids to have a clean place to go fishing. It was actually hilarious today. I went fishing with my son, and he saw a gentleman on the bank with a wal mart sack, and my 5 year old yelled out to him "Pick up your trash." I started cracking up. I had to tell my son that the gentleman was actually keeping it clean. LOL
