+1 for Canton's first Monday trade days. It starts on the Thursday before the first Monday of the month. So it actually starts May 30th, ending June 2nd. One of the largest flea markets nationwide. http://firstmondaycanton.com/

www.gulfshoresbeachdays.com the state pier is 300 yards from the condo. Kingfish, bull reds, bluefish, and Spanish Mack's are caught off it daily. We went last year and it was a blast. 12 hour drive. Take wire for leaders, and McDonald's straws to make the Spanish Mack rigs

Go to the Wichita Mountains. It's about an hour from Wichita Falls, TX near Lawton OK. The area is beautiful and there is a lot to see and do. There are cabins in the little town of Medicine Park. Very cool area.

Hot Springs, AR. Lake Degray, Ouachita, Catherine, Hamilton. Also good river smallmouth wade fishing in Oden, AR on the Ouachita River. Spas, shopping, good restaurants, Oaklawn Horse Track, great golf in Hot Springs Village. Only an hour and a half away from Little Rock and 4 hrs from Dallas.

Depends on the stuff she likes to do and if you want to stay on a lake.
To keep her happy, San Antonio (Sea World, Fiesta Texas, Alamo, etc...) or if she likes the beach, South Padre Island. Out of Texas, not quit surrounding, Branson or Gulf Shores.
As for lakes, maybe Austin, not too many other lakes that have a variety of things to do close by.
