Unless someone knows for sure I would not be on here on a public forum spreading rumors of this seriousness. Lots of industry people on here and you never know who is reading it. Would not be fun to get a phone call over it. What are they going to do ??? Tell him he can't buy anything from Academy.. The original post was a question. The Academy we have here has less bass gear every year. But it could be a sign of the times.

Went to lufkin today, they had in the last week redone the entire fishing section. I think they have more stuff than ever. still lots of empty pegs mainly H2O baits, figure they are waiting for new ones to come in. Still lackingin rod selection though

Picked up some stuff at the Ft. Worth Cherry Lane store today and was also wondering about all the empty shelves. I would say they were down by 60% from the last time I was in there. Hope they stick around.

Can't find guns or ammo to buy. If you can't find something to do at home, might as well go fishing!

As fishermen y'all need some patience!!! These stores that have empty pegs or low inventory have not set their plan-o-grams yet or their shipment of new product has not arrived. Not all stores are going to get product at the same time. Higher volume stores are going to get product faster than lower volume stores.
Give 'em time guys!

How long should it take to do 3 isles of fishing stuff in a new Plan-o-gram?
When I worked in a department store (hardware store) it would take us a day or 2 to complete. Often times just a half a day.

I heard that they are changing suppliers so trying to mak space and such. They said they are getting higher quality stuff. I talked to a guy at the Waco location about it. Since there is a small cabelas coming into town here they have to compete

They totally rearranged the Tyler store and seems like the selection was better. Still no good rods but the bait selection I think improved. They had a bunch of War Eagle spinnerbaits that I don't remember and a bigger selection of Grandebass stuff.

Academy needs to learn the 6 P's. The Longview store is and always has been a total joke. I love it when an associate comes by and asks if you're finding everything OK. When you reply, "Nope, haven't found a single thing I came in here for." they just walk off.

Give 'em time guys! This plan-o-gram you speak of must have been going on for months at the Temple store. Their pegs have been empty for a while. I asked an employee that worked in the fishing department the other day about Grande Bass worms he didn't have a clue and could care less about finding out if they were getting anymore in. Today all the Grande Bass baits were gone and the pegs they were on. I find myself spending less and less in Academy.
