Went to Academy in Plano today. All high end reels were off the racks and many bait racks were empty. The sales clerk had no idea what was going on. It looked like it was 3 aisles narrower

Went to buy a Lew's Tourney Pro today. He said corporate asked for them all back because they weren't selling well. They did some moving around of ours but it looks like basically the same amount of stuff.

I have a Largemouth at home....sometimes she lets me go fishing.

Looks like they're dropping a lot of the better stuff to make room for el cheapo stuff. Ones out here dropped all the rods except for Allstar, abu and other cheapo stuff Bbarely any reels on the shelf other than throw aways. Lures like luckycraft, lft, grande bass etc are all but gone.

Looks like they're going to turn into a shoe and clothes store!

You couldn't tell it at the Classic Expo.

They had a big booth, plenty of baits (including Strike King XD-10s), numerous personalities and anglers in their booth for appearances and seminars, and all of their H2O Express tackle gear, rods, reels, etc.

Unless someone knows for sure I would not be on here on a public forum spreading rumors of this seriousness. Lots of industry people on here and you never know who is reading it. Would not be fun to get a phone call over it.

Acadamy had the best price on 10XDs I have seen at the Classic bought 6 of em. There were plenty of pros around and sure looked like they were going to be in for the long haul.

Lufkin is still fully stocked. Just got 2 good Frog Rods from the Rod Riot. (Allstar 7'11 and H20 7'10") I guess since we are closest to Sam Rayburn they are keeping us loaded up!

Disappointed in the Lews no longer there. If ya need Senkos you better get them before Sunday.

I only see folks expressing opinions. Not really bashing Academy.

Academy in Longview has an amazing selection of gear. Stocked full even during their sales. Yamamoto Senkos this week for $3.99, 25% off Zoom baits and lots of clearance. I always find something to buy everytime I go.

And it does appear that they are catering to the low end merchandise.

Academy is great IMO....there way cheaper than gander mtn..the Lufkin and Tyler academy's have a good selection...just don't ask an employee for help...only a few there have a clue .

Academy on Bryant Irvin is actually fully stocked for once with a full stack of rods for rod riot and strike king cranks and traps are on sale as well as gamagatsu hooks 25%off all reels including less were there too. It may just be a location thing.

Burleson Academy is weak and has been for over a year! Arlington Academy has Ducketts and higher end rods though.
