I am considering buying a Humminbird depthfinder/gps combo to use with my Terrova transducer. Which Hummingbird depthfinders are compatible with the terrova tansducer? I am assuming that side imaging and/or down imaging units are not compatible. Is that correct?

Now I am confused. I have zero experience with side imaging and downimaging. I thought that two transducers were needed on those units. Are you sayiing that I can connect all those units to my Terrova i-pilot and have down imaging or side imaging w/o installing another transucer?

I'm pretty sure the terrova US2 universal sonar dual beam transducer cannot do side or down imaging. Just the normal sonar.

If you want to use the si/di you would have to install the hdsi transducer.

Yes the US2 only runs 2d sonar and you have to have the adapter cable to connect it to the graph (about $30). If you want DI or SI you need the appropriate transducer.

Okay that makes sense. I have an Eagle depthfinder w/o gps connected to my Terrova at present with a connecting cable. So I would just wire the depthfinder and get a new connecting cable.

To add the DI or SI I would have to wire another tansducer to the back of the boat?

I have an Lowrance LCX-27C wired to my center console with a stern transducer mounted externally. If I add The SI or DI transducer will that interfere with the Lowrance unit?

I'm thinking that they would be different frequencies than the 83-200 mh frequency of the lowrance unit.

Or if I choose a hummingbird w/o DI or SI I could just use the connecting cable to the Terrovas transducer?

No you can run the hdsi transducer on the trolling motor with the bracket. Transducer with mount http://store.humminbird.com/products/314024/XTM_9_HDSI_180_T

Mount only http://store.humminbird.com/products/271655/AD_STM_7

Yep you could also use a SI/DI unit but it would be a waste not being able to use the technology from the unit.

Yes, that would be a waste. If I buy a unit with SI/DI I will use its features to the best of my ability. I just wanted to know if the transducer installed on the Terrova woould work with SI/DI. Thanks guys.

Hummingbird makes depthfinders with internal and external gps antennae. Can you tell which unit has what? Are the units with internal antennaes comparable to units with the external antennaes? I would rather not have to mount an addittional antennae.

Also are all needed transducers boxed with the respective DI SI units or are they purchased seperately? How can one tell? From what I've seen, some do and some don't.

You can add the transducer for a DI Model or SI model both have all the elements in the transducer to provide all the sonar the unit is capable of. But will need an external transducer.

US2 will only do 2D sonar Readings. You must mount and external transducer to use Di or SI model.

Only 300, 500 and 700 Series with an "i" in model feature internal GPS Receiver. The 800, 900 and 1100 Series are all external receivers.
