I think I have finally narrowd my selction down to the Dobyns DX743 split handle for my "feel" baits. I will probably pair it with a Revo STX in 7.1:1 or poss. 8.0:1.

Let me hear your thoughts on this. Primary reason for choosing champ extreme is due to a 40% voucher.

I just bought a DX744 split grip paired with w Lew's Team Pro Speed Spool reel (5.9oz) in 7.1.1. My application is for Jigs, but this set up could also do C-rig, swim baits, or even larger crank baits. It's a pretty sweet combo.

I've also got a Revo Premier (1st gen ) and the Lew's is lighter weight and its noticeable balance wise when paired with the 744. I know you asked about STX, which I can't say. There's a sale this weekend at Tacklewarehouse if you want to save 25%.
