My son and I are staying in a cabin on the shore of Lake Hamilton over spring break (Mar 9th-12th). The Cabin is just a mile down from the base of the Blakely Mountain Dam. We will be several miles by water away from the Main Lake on Lake Hamilton. We love to Bass and Crappie fish. Does anyone have experience fishing this upper part of Lake Hamilton? What bait should we use? Is it worth the long boat ride down the river on our Jon boat to the main lake?
There is no i in TEAM but there is in Fishing.

water temps up the channel to the damn stay freezing cold even in summer. Still good fishing up there just go back in all the coves that lead to all the lake front house owners and fish everything especially the docks. I have a good friend that has a house on the upper end and I fished there plenty. Weightless shim-e-sticks around the docks does good. jigs and t-rigs as well. Have fun cause that place is very beautiful.
