I just started fishing at Benbrook lake and was wondering if anyone knew of some good spots to catch 'em during the spawn, if you could give directions, post pics, or even provide gps points that would be awesome!

Hey Eddie,
I'd be surprised if you got any coordinates as most fishermen here don't give away much except general info. Good luck anyway! eek2

If your just getting into crappie, I suggest learning elsewhere.....if your expierianced to crappie and new to benbrook, all I can say is good luck...forget everything you know....it's a tough cookie! ALOT of the pros like Sac-au-lait Pat and Bud Baker have spent More time on the water than I have on earth and they still have trouble on occasion....this is one of the lakes that people struggle to locate the fish and when they FINNALY find them it stays a secret

"The humps I know of are at the mouth of Richardson slough on the east side of the dam. The GPS coordinates are:

20ft hump: N 32 38 14.99
W 97 27 16.74

16ft hump: N 32 38 19.09
W 97 26 58.12" - User: Texas Outboards

Me:Hey look at that! It's a start

You picked a good time to get started. Wait a couple of three weeks. Then look in the shallows like everyone else. The crappie will be easy to catch on most area lakes.

Bit of advice. When I began jig fishing brushpiles I had no idea where to start. I took the time to read the forum and picked up other bits of info on where and how to find brushpiles. I took my new found knowledge to the waters and posted my results, both success and failure here on the forum. When people saw that I was driven to learn and succeed they began to openly help me when I had questions. Long story short, there is A LOT of knowledge on this forum, and A LOT of it came from t.o.w. (time on water). Really hope this helps!

East of the dam.... Theirs no water on that side. And its a huge secret about the Crappie on Benbrook. Ran into 2 guys that are on here at Mustang ramp and they acted like i wasnt even there because they knew who i was.. I finally got them to actually talk to me.. Guess they thought they were Crappie Celebrities. HA!!!
