I picked up an Abu Garcia 5500C for $30 at an antique store a couple weeks ago. I thought it was pretty cool 'cause it looked like it was in great condition and was on the original old school Abu rod and everything. It was screaming pretty bad and not casting well when I first tried it out. I took it apart and oiled it up and now it sounds perfectly smooth but I still cant cast it further than 25 to 30 feet. I've messed with the cast control and drag but I'm still having trouble. I could use some help and if nothing else, somewhere in College Station that rebuilds Abus. I'll hang up and listen.
