Trim down back off throttle while crossing wake, then hammer on it in clean water. Glad he survived, but rookie mistake on the Safety of driving a HP bass boat. Shotgun starts you will find the safest spot on the outside peep

Tell you this much dam good thing he didnt have someone with him!!! Pause that at 2:17 and you got yourself split brain soup. I still dont see very many people commenting on the reason this happened. I am certain it was speed + wind + wake + trim, and it all met up at just the right time = fuNked up! I dont own a boat (wish I did) but I do go out and fish tourney's as a co-angler and I viewed this video quite some time ago, and it always freaks me out man. Get some weekend jack trying to act elite for a stupid $4 grand tourney and you never know what could happen! Video trips me out dude!

Rob,
It seems like this is called a j turn. I seen it on here before posted by Judd. It happens above 60mph and I believe Skeeters are the only boats that will actually slide out of it.
It happened to a BASS pro here on Falcon in the last BASS tournament.
I searched google but my Internet skills are weak. Lol
I'm certain I remember. It has to do with air between prop and water and the right hand propulsion of motor/prop.

I've got an ole trusty Ranger, and maybe it's a good thing I can't afford something faster than 57 MPH.... grin

Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.

If he enjoys flying he should start out in one of these.

Idiots in fast boats. Obviously the boat has no weight in it (tackle etc) and he is jumping waves with the motor at full trim. That spells disaster at top speed and he proved it. Any good driver will trim down slightly before jumping the waves and or throttle back slightly. My opinion.

He came real close to that prop when he hit the water.I guess it was slowed down or stopped, but it still coulda bit him good. I wounder about the 10 minutes in the water too.

like the man says...if you're swimming in the ocean and get bitten by a shark, its not a shark attack. You're in THEIR neighborhood. If you're at home in your shower, turn around and a shark is in there with you...THAT'S a shark attack
