Thanks for all the replies, this forum seems pretty damn awesome so far.
The Raptor does great pulling the boat.... however you will get horrible mileage. I average 9.6 pulling the boat. Oh well that the price you pay for towing with a 6.2 Liter baja truck lol. Ill likely rent a diesel for my coast runs.

Got ya, I've never drifted for catfish. We anchored up.... Well attempted to last Sunday. I think either my anchor is too small or it was just too rough because it sure did not keep me in one spot.

I'm on Eagle Mountain every once in a while. Let me know if you're heading out. You'll need two good box anchors to hold that boat in place if its blowing at all. That boat shouldn't need a kicker just buy a membership to sea tow and you save in the long run should you decide to go offshore. I've had my 19' Bluewave 25 miles out several times in the right conditions. Most of the time you won't even have to go out that far. Thanks for the info on the raptor. I've got a diesel for hauling heavy loads. I just need a gasser to whip around town in and pull the boat the 5 miles to the club.

I have been thinking about getting a smaller motor to put in the boat, I would like to have a 5hp motor stored in a compartment in my boat so just in case I can bust it out if I need it. You also have to have a way to get the gas to it, I was thinking about tapping into my main gas tank IF I needed it, Then I started thinkin some more and I figure if the boat sinks it wont matter how many motors its got. I have been planning a trip to Aransas Pass and Im gonna do it in 2 weeks My boat is good for 40 miles out maybe more, Big Fish! Good luck, welcome to the wonderful world of boating!
