STS, it's not cheap but it works great and it's easy to install.

If you don't mind cutting your own and then glue it down with some spray adhesive, find a cheap "yoga mat" and cut to fit and glue it down yourself. Just another suggestion.

Definitely thinking about those yoga mats ... darn cheap alternative. Do they hold up though?

STS is Da Bomb!! So far I love it on my kayak! It is a little pricey and its easy to go overboard, but overall quiets the thuds down alot and feels good on your feet!

Another alternative I've seen is cut some commercial carpet squares for the standing area in front of your seat.

That STS material is black? That could be a problem in Texas?

I actually use a cheap product from target. Go to the cleaning section at target and look for a roll of stuff called "Contact non adhesive shelf liner". The stuff you put in your kitchen cabinets for your glassware and such. Cut it into a square and put it under your seat. I use hobie which is notorious for he seat slip and is a good chap option that you don't have to glue. It is thin, light, and works.

There is also seadek and hydroturf, both are pricey but you can get colors and options sts does not offer.
