Fished both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, fished with jigs every which way possible with no luck at all, while others around me had a bit better luck. Sunday I fished with minnows. Caught 2 males and 1 female. All pretty big for sandies. Was fishing at the hole south of 66, along with everyone and their mothers. The people fishing with lures were doing pretty decent, but they're stacked in a pretty small pocket that's hard to get to unless you want to stand shoulder to shoulder on the few open areas that access the hole. A good warm rain should bring'em up the creek. The water is plenty deep, just too cold.

Wait until the bluebonnets are blooming. It's the peak time to catch sand bass at RC.
Wind from the north, fisherman does not go forth. Wind from the south, blows the bait in the fish's mouth. Wind from the east, the fish bite least. Wind from the west, the fish bite best.. __________________________________

It is all part of a science called phenology and as it relates to fishing--for the past 1000 years or so.
We have learned, for example, that when the flowers blossom in the garden in late May or early June--depending on the year--that the little sulfur mayflies will be hatching.
Seed and garden catalogs have hardiness-zone maps for plants. Interestingly, you could look at the same map as a seasonal fishing predictor. Such maps have sometimes been referred to as hatch predictors on trout rivers, but they apply to other kinds of fishing, too.
The approximate dates of migrating shad are all climate related and follow seasonal patterns that fluctuate along with the weather. Various flowing plants are subject to the same weather and vary in blossoming dates accordingly. When our local flowering trees are in blossom, for example, I know its time to go fishing in the creeks and rivers for spawing fish are in full swing.. one of the best fishing predictors is your home garden or in noting the general state of plants in your immediate area. Keeping track of what happens and when can be really helpful. Put another way, to be a successful angler it really helps to notice things.
Check your March and April OutDoor magazines, fishing Magazines,Garden magazines,Farmers Almanac.. You will see...

Speaking of gardening. You can follow my epic Aquaponis build at https://www.facebook.com/helpmeteachtheworld I started a thread on it once and it was deleted by the admin. I will make another one soon. Thanks and I hope to see some of you following my work.
Look up " Aquaponics! The self sustained revolution." on Face Book and like the page to learn how to use fish to grow anything at 4 times the rate with 90% less water than normal agriculture while eliminating all chemicals and producing fertilizer for in ground plants.

Well I've tried getting that link to work but if you just search " Aquaponics! The self sustained revolution! " on face book and like my page that would be awesome. Its self sustained food production that uses aquaculture to grow the food at 4 times the rate and 90% less water. I am starting a nonprofit to take these systems to other countrys.

Anyone knows the current water depth of the Rowleyt Creek? Thanks! Water depth varies all along the creek. Hubbard is almost 4 foot low, so creek is 4 foot low from is max depth. The creek is currently the same level it was at this time two years ago. Water is super clear. Clarity is around 3 feet. Flow is normal. (Went out yesterday) I'd say the water is still around 50 degrees. The temps this week aren't going to help any. Next week is supposed to start getting warmer with highs in the 60's and lows in the mid 40's.
