Had to turn trolling motor on on lake yesterday. While catching a bass took foot of of control. And troling motor turn all the to right and stuck in that position. How do I unlock cables .

most likely jumped off the pulley under the head ..cables being loose will cause the head to spin to the side...

remove the cover screws and look at the cable drum.

Thank you the help I removed cover and cable was off. Put back on but still real tight. Working motor back and forth the cables on head are now loose. I remove two screw to loosen pulley on foot control. It work just can't get slack from head to foot control to put pulley back on.

the loosening and tightening is done under the foot pedal,just under the wires that go into the pedal ..use a phillips screwdriver and loosen to get back on pully, then tighten back up..

Check the upper tube and see if it's bent. Also, depending on which MinnKota, there may be a screw that came out of the steering pinion and lodged between the shafts.
