lol showers are tough everyone wants somthing remarkable for cheap. Hard to get.

Installing tile over a wood framed floor is not that hard. bruce laid out the scope well, but you should recess the the subfloor between the floor joists, this allows for some extra mud to stiffen the base concrete. i usually spec 30# felt of a self adhered waterproof membrane over the subfloor. place the concrete base with adequate slope to the drain opening, "hallfns" recommended the best shower waterproofing material - Schluter Ditra system, place this over the concrete base and walls, it has accessories for the drains, and seals for all of the plumbing valves and piping. let it cure, water test the pan, then set your tile mortar, tile and grout.

home depot used to sell schluter materials, their not cheap. they have good step by step tutorials and a good tech department you can call.

I don't remember all the steps. But the same guy is building a new base for another shower in the next few weeks, it will be 65x 60.
