Well late fri night jeb225 text me and asked if I wanted to tag along with him to Lake Waurika here in Okie land sat morning. Well Im glad I did! We met up at the ramp around 0830 and went searching for bait and it was a little tougher than usual. We loaded up on 5-6in drum and just a couple shad. So we said what the heck and went for it. We have a spot on this lake that has produced a 20+ and 30+ every time we go. So of course thats the first place we always stop at. Well after cutting up the drum and got all the rods out. We were spread out from 2-4ft of water. Bout 20mins into it my rod doubles over and the tail comes out of the water and I knew that this thing was going to beat my 29# pb. After fighting it for a min or two Johnny(jeb225) netted it and we both knew not only was it my pb but possibly a lake record! Here in OK it works completely different then TX when it comes to records. They have to be 40lbs or better. There is no current blue record for the lake and know we know why! We weighed her and she went 40.8lbs and was 48in long! So immediatley we pulled out our phones and starting calling everyone from game wardens, corps, gas stations and bait shops! The gw said they would not come out to certify it unless we drove the fish 20miles to a gas station to get it on certified scales and then he wouldnt know when you could make it there to do the affidavit. He told Johnny that if it was during the week it could get done asap but not to much is done on the weekends! Im going to use the clean version but Johnny got a little excited with him! lol

During all of this the fish is on a stringer going thru the lower jaw and is in the lake. After exhausting all of our options we let her back go. The drive and wait wasnt worth taking the chance of this big girl not making back to the lake. So after some videos and pics we let her go.

Now today was for the books for sure! I landed two huge cats! (for me anyways) I landed a 40#, 32#, a 12-13lber and a couple box fish.

Johnny was on fire with 2 24#ers, 23#, 13# and a couple box fish.
It started out cloudy and slick. Then it snowed yes SNOWED on us. Then the clouds went away and became sunny. The wind blew out of every direction.

We had an absolute blast and it was our best day of fishing ever! Johnny and I have been fishing together for 15+yrs and have had some awesome days on the water together but today took the cake!
