To those with the"good wife" stories you are blessed. I know...I am too. For those with the "nobody tells me anything" stories...it was a joke not a story. But it is clear why you don't ask permission...ain't no one there to ask! Must be tough walking around with a set that big!

Since I have a wife I give her every consideration as to how my fishing affects our relationship. I usually fish quite a bit. We moved to Nashville a year ago and it has been wonderful. Around here all roads lead to the lake. This winter has been different however, and I haven't had the boat out since before Christmas. I don't make an issue out of it and she doesn't ma ke an issue out of it when I do go. It's a balancing act based upon respect and consideration. If it feels good I go and if it doesn't I stay home. When we were dating one time we were fishing and as I was wiping down the boat I thought maybe I would make a comment to her just to see how she would take it. I told her I liked fishing so much that my connection and use of the boat filled all of my needs....... Except one. She just looked at me and smiled. She understood. I am at the classic right now because she sent me here even though our budget really can't justify it. She is interviewing for a new position which means that we will have to move. One of her main criteria In her job search is to make sure there is good fishing nearby.
So no, I don't "have" to ask permission to fish. My wife is always trying to encourage my fishing

I live in fear of what I will find when I get home from fishing.
