not trying to advertise admins... but I am curious if you think there is a market for leather reel cases. Ive seen some online, but am curious if real fly fishers would buy them.... the sites I see them on seem to be geared towards high end consumers... is the a need for this or is it just a "look how much I can spend on my hobby" accessory?
I am about to make one for myself, just because I have the materials... but would always be willing to make more.

Unlike leather rod cases that you could leave in the truck when you go fishing, I often leave a reel in its case, especially when in a boat, to protect it from getting dinged up. That said, I'd be hesitant to buy a leather case for fear it would get wet, soggy, etc. Neoprene and similar materials work best for me.

There is definitely a market for well-padded reel cases, especially for high-end SW reels. I have cases for all my reels and spare spools. Most of them came from LL Bean, but I would be interested in custom cases with monograms to identify the reel or the spool.

Thanks for the feed back. I'm gonna make one for my cheap-o reel with some shearling lining inside.... I'll put some pictures up when its finished.
