Headed for Falcon 1st week in April. Havent been in 30 years. Staying in Zapata. Any info, ie baits, ramps, food, would be grately appreciated. In North Texas I primarily use Cranks, Topwaters, and 75% plastics. Specifics not needed, maybe colors and general locations. Thanks

Don't buy a thing until you get down there. Go to Falcon Lake and Tackle and James will tell you everything you need to know. The bite changes so much you won't know until you get down there. I have waisted a lot of money buying baits before I got there.

- Ramps, two main ramps, North side = County, South side = State park
- Hotels, most are about the same, seems to be mostly personal preference that dictates where folks stay
- Food, Mexican in several varieties from several small local restaurants...all are about the same...most are short staffed...middle of the road food...
- Fishing, tough right now, shallow is probably the better odds if you haven't been in a while
- Location, varies by personal taste mostly
- Baits, Cranks, Senkos, and a lot of work will produce

Check my response to your post in reports section.

+1 for Falcon Lake Tackle across from county ramp! James is a great report sharer!!! Their website is helpful too. They can dial you in closer to your trip thumb

Topwater has never really been a goto technique at falcon. There are times where it can be good though. April definitely won't be too early to give it a shot.

I have AT&T and it works, but be carefull when it switches to the Tellcell or whatever the cell phone provider for Mexico is. It has switched on me and i was in the USA, its very expensive. I have an Iphone and I turn the data stuff off so i will not get emails or stuff like that just incase it goes to the Mexico cell tower.
