I just wanted to know what hooks ya'll use. I have heard of 3 different setups. One being a normal wide gap hook
Two is using a weighted weedless hook
3 is a small hook like a drop shot nose hook.

I guess I am asking which do you prefer? I'm trying to get better at this technique this year. I have always done well with a senko weightless and T-rigged. I just want to give a different look.

I use a Mustad hook that has a thin wire weedguard and a 1/16 ounce weight on it toward the middle shank area of the hook. It makes it fall just about right for me. However, i have not been seing those hooks in the stores in the last month.

I have a few packs of the Mustad weighted weedless hooks. I used them on Amistad a few years back. I missed about every 3rd fish with them. I did catch some really nice ones though.
I have seen a few fishing shows on lately that talk about a wacky rig. One was Kreit talking about using a regular 3/0 Trokar hook. The other was one of the small drop shot hooks.

I think the best set up is to go weightless with the Gamakatsu Wicked Wacky hook. Easy hook ups and for whatever reason it snags very little in heavy timber or grass.

15. Signature images may not be larger than 600 pixels wide by 125 pixels tall. This includes logos, photos and other graphics. Also, no more than one row of images are allowed. If you want four or five logos in your signature, reduce their size to fit in one row.

I have not tried the headbanger as mentioned by Senkosmith....but I have tried most of the weighted hook/flickshake hooks on the market and the Bayou Wacky Wedge hook is one of the best. The hook is just stout enough to get fish out of trouble and the wedge head design allows for it to pull through timber roots, brush, and grass easily. If you are around the Lake Fork area stop in Lake Fork Marina and pick some up.

Gary Yamamoto Split Shot Hook. Even this open hook is very weedless.

I use a 3/0 up to a 5/0 gamagatsu wide gap hook depending on how fast i want it to fall. I dont like putting a baby hook in a bait like that. the bait falls the same.

I like the weighted one with the lead in the bend. They're made with and without a wire weedguard.
I also use an EWG in about a 3/0 and a small #2 worm hook at times.

All will work if you fish it slow.
