I know many on here have carts for their yaks b/c they are simply to heavy to transport without one. I've never really had that problem until two days ago. I found a great spot to put in on a new lake, but it meant carrying my yak about 200 yards, plus all the gear. So, a little searching on line, and this is what I found. http://palmettokayakfishing.blogspot.com/2011/04/diy-bulletproof-kayak-cart-build.htmlIt might be a well known link on here, but I had never seen it. After a trip to HD and Harbor Freight, this is what I've got! A little O.D. Green, and it looks like it could fire mortars!

Using a small piece of artillery to move your yak. I like it.

I don't know about bullet proof, but it is a handy design. I built the same cart, from new materials, and had one of the PVC Tees break while moving a kayak. I've fixed it easy enough, but I would never use one of these to take on a trip where I had to store it and use it to portage with repeatedly. I would take the best cart I could buy.
Just saying. The paint job does look good, though. Definitely more custom looking than mine.
Nice job!

Looks great! They are very handy for loading and unloading when alone.

For $35 I might need to rethink my "I'm too manly to need a cart" mentality...

I think I'm going to use schedule 80 PVC. Won't cost very much more and only ways a little more than sch 40. And, its a whole lot stronger than 40 too. When we replaced high pressure lines at work we always used sch 80 pipe for that.

I just built the same one but couldn't find the jumbo pool noodles so I temporarily used pipe insulation till someone starts carrying the noodles. Where did you find them?
